# CodeMe Avatar Privacy Policy **Effective date:** July 26, 2026 **Last updated:** July 26, 2026 This Privacy Policy explains how the developer of CodeMe Avatar ("CodeMe Avatar," "we," "us," or "our") handles information when you use the CodeMe Avatar macOS application (the "App"). ## 1. Summary CodeMe Avatar is designed to work locally on your Mac. - We do not require an account. - We do not collect, transmit, sell, rent, or share personal data through the App. - We do not use advertising, tracking technologies, analytics SDKs, or third-party data collection SDKs. - Your timer state, reminder preferences, selected avatar, widget position, and other settings remain on your device. For App Store Connect's App Privacy disclosure, the current version of the App qualifies as **Data Not Collected**, provided that the App is distributed in the same form described by this policy and no data-collecting services are added. ## 2. Information Stored Locally To provide its features, the App stores the following information locally in its macOS application container and preferences: - focus, break, hydration, and reminder intervals; - the current timer phase, timer deadlines, and completed focus-session count; - notification, sound, launch-at-login, visibility, and always-on-top preferences; - selected avatar, avatar size, opacity, position, and animation preferences; and - whether introductory messages have already been shown. This information is used only to operate and personalize the App on your Mac. It is not transmitted to us or to third parties. ## 3. Permissions and Apple System Services The App may ask for permission to display local notifications. Notification permission is optional and can be changed at any time in macOS System Settings. Notification content and scheduling are handled locally through Apple's system notification framework. If you enable "Launch at Login," macOS registers the App as a login item. You can disable this feature in the App or in macOS System Settings. The App does not request access to HealthKit, location, contacts, calendars, photos, the camera, the microphone, Accessibility controls, or files outside its sandbox. Apple may independently process information related to App Store downloads, purchases, updates, crash reports, or diagnostics under Apple's own privacy policies and your Apple device settings. We do not control Apple's processing. ## 4. How We Use Information Locally stored information is used only to: - run focus, break, movement, and hydration timers; - display reminders and notifications you have enabled; - remember your settings and selected avatar; - restore timer state after the App or Mac restarts; and - position and display the desktop avatar. We do not use this information for advertising, profiling, tracking, automated decision-making, or sale. ## 5. Sharing and Third Parties The App does not send locally stored information to us, advertisers, data brokers, analytics providers, or other third parties. The current version contains no third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs. If this changes, we will update this policy and the App Store privacy disclosures before the changed version is released. ## 6. Retention and Deletion Local settings and timer information remain on your Mac until you reset the relevant information, remove the App's local data, or erase the device. Where available, you may reset statistics from within the App. You can also remove the App and its associated local application data through macOS. Because we do not receive or retain this information, there is no server-side personal data for us to access, export, correct, or delete. You may revoke notification permission or disable the login item at any time in macOS System Settings. ## 7. Security The App uses the macOS App Sandbox and stores its preferences in the App's local container. No method of local storage is guaranteed to be completely secure, but the App minimizes risk by not transmitting or centrally storing your personal information. ## 8. Children's Privacy The App is not directed specifically to children and does not knowingly collect personal information from children or any other users. ## 9. International Users Because the App does not transmit personal data to us, we do not transfer App data between countries. Apple may process App Store-related information under its own terms and privacy policy. ## 10. Wellness and Medical Disclaimer CodeMe Avatar is a general productivity and wellness reminder tool. It is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, or professional health services. Break, movement, stretching, and hydration reminders are general suggestions only. They may not be appropriate for every person or situation. You are responsible for deciding whether and how to follow a reminder. Consult a qualified healthcare professional if you have a medical condition, symptoms, mobility restrictions, hydration restrictions, or questions about your health. Never disregard professional medical advice because of information or a reminder provided by the App. The App must not be relied upon for emergencies, safety-critical timing, medical monitoring, or guaranteed notification delivery. ## 11. Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the App is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind. We do not warrant that the App, timers, reminders, notifications, animations, or other features will always be accurate, uninterrupted, timely, or error-free. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, productivity, business, or opportunity arising from or related to use of, inability to use, or reliance on the App. Nothing in this policy excludes or limits liability or consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited in your jurisdiction.
